April 2026 Pickleball Roundup
Welcome to the April edition of the Pickleball Roundup. Spring is here, the indoor season is wrapping up across Alberta and Atlantic Canada, and Ontario's tournament calendar just got very busy. This month alone, close to 800 players descend on Mississauga for the GTA Open, the Okanagan sells out a 150-person women's event in under an hour, and Quebec stacks three simultaneous tournaments into a single April weekend. The CNPL Season 4 roster is set with athletes from four continents, and Nationals registration opens before the month is out. There is a lot to cover.
But the story that stuck with us this month didn't come from a tournament bracket. A historic stone church in Chambly, Quebec has been converted into a pickleball facility called Amen Pickleball, and the new owners say they hope it stays at the heart of their community. It's a story that feels familiar. Pickleball keeps finding spaces that have lost their purpose. Old churches, off-season curling rinks, decommissioned mall wings. The sport has a habit of walking into overlooked square footage and turning it into somewhere people show up every day. TSS has been part of that story more than once. Amen Pickleball is just the latest version of something this sport keeps doing. Let's get into the full month.
Ontario: Spring Arrives, and So Does the Calendar
APA: The GTA Open
April 1 to 5 | One Health Clubs, 2021 Cliff Rd, Mississauga
355 players registered. The GTA Open is one of the bigger events on the April calendar, running across five days at One Health Clubs in Mississauga. The APA Canadian Circuit returns with skill divisions from 3.0 through Pro, age categories at 19+ and 50+, and DUPR submission throughout. Championship rings for all medallists, cash prizes in the 4.5/5.0 and Pro divisions, and singles play on the opening day. If you've been building toward something this spring, this is the one.

Picklers Fest: The Hub Turns One
April 8 to 12 | Picklers Hub, 455 Gibraltar Dr, Mississauga
Picklers Hub is celebrating its first anniversary with a tournament that feels more like a block party. Just shy of 300 players are registered across nine cushioned courts at the ASBA award-winning facility. Skill divisions from 2.5 through 5.0+, cash prizes ranging from $100 to $400, and the kind of energy you'd expect from a club that packed in a full year of leagues, clinics, and community nights in under 12 months.
The Six Open: Cash Cup
April 10 to 12 | Pickleplex Downsview, 40 Carl Hall Rd, North York
Just over 200 players registered for the Six Open, a DUPR-rated event with cash prizes for gold-medal teams and exclusive Six Dinks championship rings. Round robin format guarantees a solid game count before medal rounds. A good option for competitive GTA players who want structured brackets and results that travel.
Life Time Mississauga Spring Classic
April 10 | Life Time Mississauga
A one-day spring event from the Life Time fitness group. Check the club directly for registration and format details.
Champions Court Spring Open
April 18 | Pickleball Nation, 71 Loyalist Trail, Oakville
Thirty-eight players, six courts, full-game replay recording on every match, and a Selkirk gift for every participant. The Champions Court Spring Open at Pickleball Nation keeps the player experience front and centre. The pre-event Zoom briefing alone is a nice touch. Skill divisions from 2.5 through 4.0+. If you've been curious what play feels like on a purpose-built TSS court, this is a good place to find out.
Toronto Elite: The Paddle Showdown Series
April 24 to 26 | Picklers Hub, 455 Gibraltar Dr, Mississauga
Picklers Hub for a second time this month. The Paddle Showdown is more targeted: 80 players, 18+ and 45+ age groups, 2.5 through 4.0+ divisions, and gold cash prizes up to $375. The Master's Cup trophy is on the line. Smaller field, higher competition density.
Regional Pickleball Highlights Across Canada
British Columbia: Rapid Growth Across the Province
The Royal LePage Spring Fling in Vernon demonstrated the regional intensity by selling out 150 spots in less than an hour. Other key April events include the sanctioned Global Indoor Tournament in Kelowna and the Berwick RC/UVic Women's Tournament, which highlights the sport's continued expansion into university campuses across British Columbia.
Quebec: Unique Venues and a Packed April Weekend
The Montreal area remains the hub for Quebec pickleball, with nine events scheduled this month, including Minor League Pickleball (MiLP) #3. The community highlight of the month is Amen Pickleball in Chambly, where a historic stone church has been converted into a vibrant sport facility. It's a fitting symbol for what this sport keeps doing across the country.
Alberta: Paddles with Purpose
Calgary hosts Paddle Wars, a 55+ charity tournament supporting the Alzheimer Association of Calgary. It's a reminder that pickleball is as much about community wellness as it is about competition. The sport's ability to draw participation at every age and skill level makes it a natural fit for charitable events like this one.
