July 2026 Pickleball Roundup

Group of pickleball players and coaches posing with paddles at SMASH Pickleball indoor courts, July 2026

Every July, the same pattern shows up. Courts that were quiet in the spring fill up fast, and the tournament calendar turns into a stretch of provincial championships. This year, a new ranking gave us a reason to look at why that keeps happening in Ontario specifically. Canada Sports Betting's "Pickle Score" study ranked Canadian cities by pickleball activity, and nine of the top 20 are Ontario communities, with Toronto first overall.

Ian Lintott dug into what's behind that number this month, from curling clubs that converted their off-season ice to the communities that added courts before the demand showed up. Read the full piece here.

July carries that theme through the whole month. Alberta, BC, New Brunswick, and Ontario all crown their provincial champions, and the CNPL brings a pro match to a TSS-surfaced club in Newmarket. Here's what's happening on courts across the country this month.

Part of the APA Canadian Circuit at Tiffin Park, with adult and kids clinics on Thursday, a Friday night party, and a free BBQ both weekend days. A portion of proceeds goes to charity. Organizer Corey Osborne is aiming to double last year's turnout of 100 players.
